Terms of Use

Effective date: August 1, 2026

1. About MUSIXQUARE

MUSIXQUARE is an independently operated, non-commercial browser service for real-time audio synchronization, shared playback, remote sharing, and communication between devices. It is currently provided free of charge. Google sign-in is optional, and room entry, playback, and anonymous chat remain available without an account.

By using MUSIXQUARE, you agree to these Terms and to use the service lawfully, responsibly, and only if you have the legal capacity to do so. Minors should use the service with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

2. Optional Accounts and Room Authority

A signed-in user chooses a MUSIXQUARE nickname. In account-aware rooms, multiple devices connected with the same account may be treated as one room member for identity and room permissions while each device keeps its own media connection and output role. You are responsible for activity performed through your account sessions and for choosing a nickname that does not mislead or impersonate another person.

Where account-linked permissions are enabled, a room owner or authorized administrator may grant or revoke media, playback, announcement, or member-management capabilities under the room's rules and may disconnect one selected device or remove all connected devices associated with one account. An ordinary-room grant lasts only while that room exists. A signed-in PRO-room grant may remain until it is revoked, the account is deleted, or the room is deleted; an anonymous grant ends with that user's room presence.

Deleting an account removes account-linked room permissions but does not decommission a PRO room, invalidate its separate room-recovery credential, or automatically delete media already shared in a collaborative room. Shared media follows the applicable room retention and cleanup rules described in the Privacy Policy.

3. Your Content and Copyright

Music, videos, files, messages, and other content shared through MUSIXQUARE remain the responsibility of the user who shares them and their respective rights holders.

File sharing and system audio sharing are intended for personal and authorized use. You must not use MUSIXQUARE to distribute, publicly transmit, record, or reproduce content unless you have the necessary rights or another valid legal basis.

Demo tracks, including music from the Linelight OST by Brett Taylor, are available only for in-product demo playback with permission from the rights holder. They must not be extracted, downloaded, redistributed, reused, or copied separately from the demo experience.

4. Remote Sharing and PRO Rooms

In ordinary rooms, file and system audio sharing is usually exchanged directly when participants are on the same network. For remote participants or in large rooms, this data may route through Cloudflare infrastructure. Remote files are kept temporarily in private Cloudflare storage, made available only to room participants with temporary download authorization, and automatically deleted within an intended maximum of 24 hours. System audio is relayed only for live delivery and is not intentionally recorded or stored. MUSIXQUARE does not access, analyze, or retain session content outside what is necessary to provide features, operate the service, and maintain security.

PRO-room storage is different. Original media uploaded by authorized room participants is stored persistently in a private Cloudflare R2 bucket for the room playlist and is not covered by the ordinary room's 24-hour retention limit. It remains until its last playlist reference is removed and cleanup succeeds, or until the operator deletes the room data. Downloads are available only through short-lived authorized URLs.

Do not share unlawful, harmful, invasive, or unauthorized content. You are responsible for the people you invite to a room and for protecting room codes and optional passwords.

5. YouTube and Other External Services

MUSIXQUARE uses YouTube API Services and the YouTube embedded player. By using YouTube features through MUSIXQUARE, you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. YouTube and Google process data under the Google Privacy Policy.

MUSIXQUARE also depends on services such as Cloudflare. Features may be limited, delayed, changed, or unavailable when an external provider changes its service, restricts access, or experiences an outage.

6. Acceptable Use

You must not use MUSIXQUARE for unlawful distribution, copyright infringement, harassment, abusive or automated traffic, unauthorized access, interference with other users, service disruption, or attempts to bypass technical or security safeguards.

7. Service Availability and Changes

MUSIXQUARE is an experimental service provided on an as-available basis. Real-time synchronization and sharing quality depend on networks, browsers, operating systems, device performance, and external infrastructure. Mobile data charges may apply outside Wi-Fi.

Features may be changed, limited, suspended, or discontinued when needed for maintenance, security, cost, abuse prevention, infrastructure limits, or changes to external services. There is no guarantee that any feature or the service itself will remain available indefinitely.

8. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, MUSIXQUARE is provided without warranties of uninterrupted operation, perfect synchronization, compatibility, fitness for a particular purpose, or preservation of shared content.

The project operator is not responsible for losses caused by user-provided content, unauthorized sharing, network or device failures, external-service outages, data charges, or use of the service contrary to these Terms. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.

9. Access Restrictions

Access may be restricted when reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, infrastructure, rights holders, or external providers, or when these Terms are violated. Restrictions may be applied to accounts, rooms, connections, requests, or technical identifiers.

10. Privacy

The Privacy Policy explains the technical and session data processed by MUSIXQUARE and its service providers.

11. Changes and Contact

These Terms may be updated as the service, infrastructure, or applicable requirements change. Material changes will be reflected by a new effective date and may also be announced through the website or app.
